Students from the Vocational High School of Aigio recently visited the facilities of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (CEID) at the University of Patras, where they were hosted by the research team of SMARTECH ATHENA/ISI.  

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students interested in Computer Science to engage with researchers and gain insights into emerging technologies shaping the digital future. During the session, the students had the chance to learn more about ongoing research activities and discuss developments in next-generation networks and Artificial Intelligence.

As part of the visit, students experienced an interactive virtual reality (VR) application and explored how advanced connectivity technologies can enable innovative digital services and applications. The activity offered a practical glimpse into the types of technologies being developed and tested within research initiatives such as 6G-BRICKS.

Outreach activities like this play an important role in connecting young students with the research and innovation ecosystem, helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, scientists, and technology innovators.
